Creative arts are the essence of my inner self expressed through the emotions & drama of lives & situations. They mesmerise the viewers & enrich their soul. I am a Highly regarded as a creator, performer, dramatist, entrepreneur, international business leader, & mentor. I have provided community service as priest, celebrant and a multicultural advocate. He is a grandfather of 5 & has lived in Australia over the past 40 years. He has been awarded honours by Councils & Community organisations.

 

Multidimensional Creative Leader

In the last 3 years, Mouli has focussed on films. He has acted in 4 international full-length films, 2 of which were released in March 2025. He has acted in 2 films in 2025, including one where he plays the male lead. They are scheduled to be released in 2026.
“My Melbourne” anthology was helmed by four top international directors Onir, Imtiaz Ali, Kabir Khan & Rima Das. It was released in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji & India in March 2025 with rave reviews. The films told real Australian stories around identity & hope Some excerpts about Mouli’s depiction of an Indian father in the story Nandini, directed by Onir which deals with the estrangement between the father & son, has won international and Australian acclaim. Mouli played the lead role in “Beyond Boundaries”, a documentary has screened in Melbourne and festivals around the globe. It was based on an iconic play on breaking down boundaries and creating a better world, which Mouli directed and played a main role in. The documentary was produced between India and Australia.
Mouli has also acted/directed 7 short films & 5 major plays in the last 4 years. His short films have been screened in Australian and international film festivals and won 18 awards & 30  final selections. The awards include best international director, short film, jury award, best poster, best BGM and for him, a best actor. 4 of his short films formed the backbone of the “Seen and Heard” film festival in August 2025. The festival was fully booked out for all 4 screenings and lauded by Government and community leaders for addressing mental health issues in an engaging manner for viewers.  In 2024, he conducted a masterclass with internationally acclaimed director Mira Nair on developing sustainable creative businesses, in Australia. on behalf of an international business mentoring organisation, TIE Melbourne.

Mouli’s film journey builds on his learning & contribution in theatrical & performing arts over the last 50 years, as well as his experiences with community service, spirituality, international business and education. He grew up in Kolkata, the cradle of creative arts in India. He started performing early in school, along with excellence in Sports & Academia with national awards. He followed his passion for theatrical arts, learning his craft from top performers & creators, stage & cinema. In 1973, He went to the premier Indian Institute of Engineering in Kharagpur & Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad for Engineering & MBA degrees. There, he served Governors of Dramatics Societies, directing, acting & producing over 15 plays, including iconic ones & won coveted awards & citations across India.In 1986 Mouli adapted, directed and acted in the lead role for the first Indian language full length play in Australia. He has been involved in over 50 performances & productions. in Bengali, Hindi & English since then. The repertoire is wide, from classics to musicals with over 100 cast & crew, to rom coms, tragedy & even a full-length film shot in Melbourne. Currently in his film journey, he is in love with multicultural & mental well-being themes that entertain, while narrating stories of hope & transformation.
