Mouli is Highly regarded as a creator, performer, dramatist, entrepreneur, international business leader, & mentor. He provides community service as priest, celebrant and a multicultural advocate. He is a grandfather of 5 & has lived in Australia over the past .40 years. He has been awarded honours by Councils & Community organisations.

In the last 2 years, Mouli has focussed on films. He has acted in 2 international films released in March 2025. My Melbourne anthology which has been directed by four top international directors Onir, Imtiaz Ali, Kabir Khan & Rima Das has been released in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji & India in March 2025 with rave reviews. They came to Australia, to tell real Australian stories around identity & hope with us, with primarily Australian cast & crew. It has received rave reviews. In May it has won the Best Film Award in the UK Asian film festival. His depiction of an Indian father in the story Nandini, directed by Onir which deals with the estrangement between the father & son, has won international and Australian acclaim. A documentary Beyond Boundaries has screened in Melbourne, based on an iconic play on breaking down boundaries and creating a better world. Both have been in international festivals. He has also acted/directed 7 short films & 3 major plays. His short films have been screened international film festivals and won 3 International best short film awards a best international script award with a total of 10 awards & & 22 final selections. In 2024, he conducted an international workshop with internationally acclaimed director Mira Nair on developing sustainable creative businesses, on behalf of an international business mentoring organisation, TIE Melbourne. .
Mouli’s film journey builds on his learning & contribution in theatrical & performing arts over the last 50 years. He grew up in Kolkata, the cradle of creative arts in India. He started performing early in school, along with excellence in Sports & Academia. He followed his passion, learning his craft from top performers & creators, stage & cinema. In 1973, He went to the premier Indian Institute of Engineering in Kharagpur & Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad for Engineering & MBA degrees. There, he served Governors of Dramatics Societies, directing, acting & producing d over 15 plays, including iconic ones & won coveted awards & citations across India.
In 1986 Mouli acted & directed the first Indian language full length play in Australia. He has been involved in over 50 performances & productions. in Bengali, Hindi & English since then. The repertoire is wide from classics to musicals with over 100 cast & crew, to rom coms, tragedy & even a full-length film shot in Melbourne. As an actor, director & writer, currently in his film journey, he is in love with multicultural & mental well-being themes that entertain, while narrating stories of hope & transformation. His current projects include a full length Australian movie, a major role in a full length IUS, Indian movie, directing a Hindi hilarious comedy being staged in Melbourne in June 2025 and curating a festival of 5 intense international Award winning short films in Melbourne, 4 of which has directed, acted or both.
